What you should know about getting assessed for COVID-19 testing at PM Pediatric Care:
    How It Works

All patients must be assessed for testing, either by visiting any of our locations or through our PM Pediatric Telemedicine app.

If you would like to get assessed for testing, please choose one of the options below:

    1. Visit any PM Pediatric Urgent Care location to have an in-person exam and have the indicated COVID test performed.

    2. Request a virtual visit using our PM Pediatric Telemedicine mobile app where a provider will help coordinate a test to follow the virtual assessment.

All testing is done by pediatric experts who follow the highest safety standards.

Insurance Coverage of the COVID-19 Test

Medical visits and testing related to COVID-19 are no longer covered by federal funds. Standard claims will be submitted to your insurance carrier and individual visit deductibles and co-pays may apply.

    Types of COVID-19 Tests

PM Pediatric Care offers both COVID-19 PCR and rapid antigen testing.

    PCR Test

The COVID-19 PCR is a molecular test performed by nasal swab that will tell you if you currently have or recently had a COVID-19 infection. The results will come back either positive or negative. This is the most accurate test available but is not 100% so a negative test does not eliminate the possibility that you currently have the infection. This test generally takes 1+ days for results although some locations work with local labs that can result in a PCR test the same day. Please contact your local office for expected turn-around times.

    Rapid Antigen Test

This test is a nasal swab that tells you in a short period of time if you are currently infected and contagious with COVID-19. With a positive test, there is a high likelihood that you have COVID-19 but, a negative test does not eliminate the possibility of infection, and therefore a confirmatory PCR test may be recommended if your antigen test is negative. If your At-home Rapid Antigen test is positive and you do not need clinical care, we recommend a telemedicine visit to provide any necessary documentation.

    Ensuring the Safety of Others

We have enhanced cleaning protocols and a touchless registration process to ensure the safety of your visit. Patients can wait in their cars or outside the office until it is their turn to be seen.
