EB Medicine and PM Pediatric Care Team Up To Enrich Education, Broaden Coverage for Acute Care Clinicians

NEWS RELEASE:

EB Medicine and PM Pediatric Care Team Up To Enrich Education, Broaden Coverage for Acute Care Clinicians

[ATLANTA, April 11, 2024] – EB Medicine, a trusted source of clinical education for urgent care and emergency medicine clinicians, is proud to announce an educational collaboration with PM Pediatric Care, the nation’s largest provider of specialized pediatric urgent care.

Together, EB Medicine and PM Pediatric Care will produce and distribute a series of CME courses to meet a growing demand for high-yield pediatric urgent care content that is aimed at non-pediatricians. As consumers increasingly bypass pediatric and family medicine practices unable to provide immediate care or seek care after regular business hours, urgent care clinics are seeing a surge of patients under the age of 26. The jointly developed educational program will serve as an intensive course on common chief complaints among children and young adults, covering not only the distinctly different, must-know aspects of their care but also the can’t-miss risks.  This CME course will contain brief high-yield modules, case-based reviews, and guidelines/pathways that can be used in real-time.

Since breaking ground in 2005, PM Pediatric Care has built a first-of-its-kind Universal Provider Training Program, preparing more than 100 physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants who, collectively, have cared for the network’s more than 4 million patients to date. Realizing how much this training improved the clinical knowledge, procedural proficiency, rapid-response skills, and confidence of its own staff, PM Pediatric Care saw the opportunity to make an even bigger impact.

“When we developed our Universal Provider Training Program with more than 50 guidelines and pathways, we always envisioned sharing this critical information outside of our practice, to raise the standard of pediatric urgent care across the board. EB Medicine has now given us the platform to make it a reality,” says Eric Weinberg, MD, FAAP, Vice President of Medical Education at PM Pediatric Care.

Pediatric coverage has been a key component of Evidence-Based Urgent Care’s success formula from the beginning, too. Since launching the publication in 2022, EB Medicine has devoted select monthly issues to topics such as pediatric orthopedic injuries, acute gastroenteritis, community-acquired pneumonia, and the like, but clinicians wanted more.

“The popularity of these topics among our subscribers, along with requests for additional peds-focused content, prompted us to seek educators, authors, and reviewers with specialized knowledge. We found the motherlode of expertise in PM Pediatric Care,” said EB Medicine Publisher Suzanne Verity. “In turn, with 25 years and a well-known name in emergency medicine and urgent care circles, EB Medicine opens a global market for PM Pediatric Care’s unparalleled training resources.”

The collaboration between EB Medicine and PM Pediatric Care represents a significant step toward elevating the standard of pediatric-focused education in urgent care. This collaboration will ultimately improve outcomes for pediatric patients and promote advancement of acute care clinicians.
