PM Pediatric Care Announces New ADHD Service for Children & Young Adults
The Country’s Largest Pediatric Urgent Care Now Offers Assessment Through Their Behavioral Health Program
LONG ISLAND, NY (November 7, 2023) — PM Pediatric Care, nationally recognized leader in the delivery of pediatric care, announces a new and innovative attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) evaluation service through their established behavioral health program. Evaluations are led by a team of pediatric behavioral health specialists, creating the foundation needed to establish a successful intervention plan for children with ADHD. The program will provide patients with a detailed diagnostic report and help families navigate the necessary resources for a newly diagnosed child and young adults. Appointments are available now to children and young adults up to age 26 in Florida and New York.
The three-step intensive ADHD evaluation process will take place over the course of 2-3 weeks and includes participation from the qualifying patient, their family, and school. A dedicated team of pediatric behavioral health experts provides an evaluation that expedites that process, giving families a definitive understanding of whether ADHD is related to their child’s struggles. Once the evaluation has concluded, patients will receive a formal, robust written report developed by a therapist and reviewed by a licensed MD. This report will include clinical and educational recommendations as well as work accommodations as appropriate.
“Specifically tailored for families who are on the complicated journey of finding the right services and treatment to assist their child at home and at school, this ADHD evaluation program will have a meaningful impact during what is often an overwhelming and confusing time for children and parents alike,” said Dr. Janet Kahn-Scolaro, Vice President of Behavioral Health at PM Pediatric Care.
The extensive ADHD report can be utilized to aid development of school education and behavioral intervention plans for families. Young adults may use the report to ensure symptoms do not interfere with their professional growth. PM Pediatric Care offers educational services regarding symptoms and potential treatment options, relevant diagnostic impressions and interventions provided in the report. PM Pediatric Care will work in conjunction with patients and their family to identify next step support requirements if needed, such as psychiatric evaluation, behavioral treatment/therapy, parent coaching, or referral to further testing at PM Pediatric Care. They may also get a referral to an outside behavioral health provider if necessary.
