Janet Kahn-Scolaro, LCSWR, PhD, has over 30 years of experience as a child and family therapist with a deeply compassionate, family-centered approach to mental health care. As Vice President of Mental Health at PM Pediatric Care, she believes that mental health is health—and that no child or family should have to wait for support when they’re ready to seek help. With decades of experience working with families and a commitment to responsive, developmentally appropriate care, she leads a team that listens first and tailors mental health treatment to each unique child and family. Dr. Kahn-Scolaro ensures that care is timely, engaging, and focused on helping families see meaningful change—because mental health care shouldn’t be a last resort, it should be part of how we support children to thrive.

Dr. Kahn-Scolaro received her MSW from Hunter College School of Social Work and PhD from Adelphi University, where her research focused on engagement in child welfare. Previously, Dr. Kahn-Scolaro was the Senior Director of Behavioral Health at Mount Sinai Health System in New York.

Dr. Jennifer Weber is the Director of Mental Health for PM Pediatric Care. She is involved in the development and the execution of the clinical elements of the program, including managing therapists and other staff, teaching, supervising, and performing administrative tasks. A child and adolescent psychologist specializing in trauma, identity-development, mood disorders, anxiety, ADHD, and adjustment disorders, Dr. Weber also provides therapy to children, adolescents, and emerging adults. Previously, Dr. Weber served as a Clinical Manager for the large community-based outpatient mental health clinic of Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Queens, NY. She completed her undergraduate degree in psychology and American studies at Brandeis University, and her doctorate in psychology at the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology of Yeshiva University, her Masters of Education in Human Development and Psychology from Harvard Graduate School of Education and her Masters of Science in Society, Human Development, and Health from Harvard School of Public Health.

Dr. Nicole Mavrides is the Medical Director of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for PM Pediatric Care. She is responsible for implementing the medication management and medical operations within the behavioral health services, as well as overseeing patient care for our most complicated behavioral health patients. Dr. Mavrides is quadruple board certified in pediatrics, adult and child psychiatry, and consultation liaison psychiatry. Her specialties include working with medically complicated patients as well as children, adolescents, and young adults who suffer from ADHD, anxiety, depression and mood disorders. Previously, Dr. Mavrides was the training director for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Miami and the Medical Director of the Pediatric Psychiatry Consultation Liaison Program at Holtz/Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Alexa Brown is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Clinical Coordinator for PM Pediatric Care. She has eight years of experience as a medical social worker, focusing on phases of life changes, grief, loss, and next steps. Alexa approaches her therapy sessions with play, artistic outlets, creativity, humor, and a down to earth, realistic mindset. She enjoys new life adventures and focusing on positives. When not doing therapy, she likes to spend time with her family, travel, and go on adventures.

Dafina Belot is a Licensed Master Social Worker dedicated to providing compassionate and effective care for children, teens, and families. She earned her Master’s in Social Work from Hunter College, where she developed a strong foundation in clinical practice, trauma informed care, child development, and family systems. Drawing from her experience as both a teacher and child/family therapist, Dafina brings a unique understanding of the complexities of growing up and the importance of a supportive environment. She is committed to creating a safe, collaborative space where clients feel empowered to grow, heal, and build essential coping skills.

Olivia Brooks is a Licensed Master Social Worker who has worked across multiple settings, including mobile crisis, acute inpatient psychiatric care, private hospital care, group therapy, and emergency services. She has experience helping children, adolescents, and families with the most common mental health concerns, including stress, anxiety, ADHD, depression, trauma, parenting issues, family conflict, self-esteem, OCD, and anger management.

Olivia is dedicated to meeting clients where they are and utilizes a strengths-based approach to help clients reach their goals through a range of therapeutic modalities, including CBT, DBT, Play Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Yael Eisenberg has experience diagnosing and treating children with autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and oppositional behavior. Prior to joining PM Pediatric Care, she worked at Northwell Health Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics. Yael received her Bachelors and Masters of Nursing degrees from New York University College of Nursing, and she completed a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Fellowship as a Registered Nurse.

Before joining PM, Lara has experience working with children on emotional regulation and social-emotional learning, and worked with veterans, providing mental health and substance abuse outpatient services. Lara has her masters degree from Columbia School of Social Work and undergraduate degrees in Sociology and Psychology.

Jessica is a Licensed Master Social Worker and the DBT Group Coordinator at PM Mental Health. Jessica believes that therapy is not a one size fits all endeavor, holding appreciation and a readiness for collaboration for the life experiences each person brings into therapy.

Jessica has experience supporting all ages in managing struggles with depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief, and bereavement. Throughout treatment, she utilizes a strengths-based approach towards establishing effective skills and using the valuable time of therapy sessions. Jessica understands the bravery required to start therapy and she believes creating a strong therapeutic relationship is a key foundation of achieving treatment goals and improving functioning.

Jessica is a certified DBT for Adolescents provider and facilitates regular virtual DBT Skills Groups for teens and young adults. She has a passion for providing a space and sharing knowledge about the usefulness of DBT Skills.

Laura holds bachelors and master’s degrees in Psychology, with certifications from the Conscious Parenting Coaching Method from Oprah’s favorite parenting expert, Dr. Shefali, the Fair Play Facilitator Method created by Eve Rodsky, C.P.C. as a Parental Leave Coach, and a Mindfulness Stress Reduction Therapy Certification by Dave Potter’s Palouse Mindfulness.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Drexel University and her master’s degree in counseling psychology from Loyola University.
