She has completed advanced training in perinatal psychiatry and maternal mental health, including coursework through the Maternal Mental Health Training Webinar Series and Enhanced Perinatal Psychiatry modules.

She holds a certification in perinatal mental health (PMH-C) and brings advanced training in perinatal loss, bereavement, trauma, and DBT for children and adolescents (DBT-C). Her professional background includes over two decades in pediatrics, five years in labor and delivery, and time as a certified school nurse, all of which inform her holistic, family-centered approach to care.

Angela’s passion for maternal mental health is also personal. Inspired by her own journey through the NICU with her children and the profound loss of her daughter at 30 weeks gestation, she has made it her life’s work to support women through the emotional complexities of pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting. She is especially attuned to the experiences of mothers facing loss, anxiety, depression, or birth trauma, and works closely with each patient to create a plan for healing and hope.

Understanding the Signs of Maternal Mental Health Challenges

Feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, or unsure of yourself is incredibly common in the early weeks and months of becoming a parent. When emotional distress lingers, deepens, or interferes with your ability to function, it may be time to consider whether more support is needed.

How a Mother’s Mental Health Shapes the Whole Family, and Why Early Support Matters

Maternal mental health is not an isolated experience; it shapes family dynamics, child development, and the well-being of partners and other children. Understanding this broader impact reinforces the importance of early support, not just for mothers but for the entire family’s health and wellbeing.
